Secure Digital is what SD means, it is a flash based removable memory card. Micro SD Card is a type of Removable small flash memory card format, and has a dimensions of 11mm x 15mm and 1mm thick. Micro SD is short hand for Micro-Secure Digital.

Circuit and Hardware: Circuit Diagram for this Arduino Audio File Player is simple. The complete circuit diagram is shown in the Image below. As we know our audio files are saved into the SD card, hence we interface a SD card reader module with our Arduino. The Arduino and SD card communicate using the SPI communication protocol. Hence the Module is interfaced with the SPI pins of the Arduino as shown above in the diagram.

The MP3stick is a simple and small portable MP3 player. A microcontroller Atmel AVR ATmega128 is the heart of the circuit. MP3 decoding is done by an VLSI VS1011b decoder IC. A MMC/SD card works as memory medium for MP3 files, playlist files and skin files. The player is designed to draw his power from a LiIo/LiPo battery with 3.6V. a charger circuit, based on MAX1811, is included.

The microSD is the miniaturized SD memory card format with a small form factor and is widely used in various electronic devices. What we are going to learn is the use of SD cards in an embedded system.

SD library is based in order to get info about your SD card. Very useful for testing a card when you're not sure whether its working or not. The circuit: * SD card attached to SPI bus as follows: ** MOSI - pin 11 on Arduino Uno/Duemilanove/Diecimila ** MISO - pin 12 on Arduino Uno/Duemilanove/Diecimila ** CLK - pin 13 on Arduino Uno/Duemilanove
